Space travel seems so close to becoming a reality; therefore, early entrepreneurs are already on making equipment to get a head start on the competition. Sierra Nevada Corporation was the first to make the largest in size in-space inflatable habitat. With the internal volume of 300 cubic meters and 8 meters in length and 8 meters in diameter.
The company the Sierra Nevada in collaboration with NASA program to develop space travel equipment; successfully building the Inflatable habitat which can orbit around the moon. Of course, they are not the only one alongside Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman Bigelow Aerospace; all will be competing on development. Where the NASA astronauts will test each one of these living quarters; by living there for three days and picking the most reliable living space.

Sierra Nevada main strength is the size, considering it is made from multi-layered fabric material; allowing the living space to change in size. Where it can shrink and packed during launch it can expand on demand once it reaches the destination; making it compatible with almost every launch vehicle and it is not too heavy.
The Sierra Nevada in-space inflatable habitat doesn’t really serve a specific purpose; but they mention that it is perfect for short trips to orbit the moon and mars. The compartment provides living space; for someone to spend up to six months in it with enough space not to go crazy.
