On Saturday, a deadly shooting which left 7 dead were Mexican Nationals as Mexico’s foreign minister defines the shooting as “an act of barbarism.” Mexico will be taking legal action against the shooter as the investigation unfolds to uncover why. It has been released that the case may even be extradited to the Mexico if needed so that the shooter will face Justice on American soil or Mexican soil.

Investigators have found that the shooting had a high chance of being a hate crime as evidence in the form of an anti-immigrant screed which may shed some insight on the motive of the shooter. Authorities are investigating the shooting as a hate crime.

Mexican officials will be close to this investigation claiming this act was an act of terrorism. Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard stated, “The president has instructed me to ensure that Mexico’s indignation translates into … efficient, prompt, expeditious and forceful legal actions for Mexico to take a role and demand that conditions are established that protect … Mexicans in the United States.”

Ebrard went to El Paso today in condole the lost and their families, assuring them that action will be taken against this heinous man for which the crime is ultimately responsible.
