Disney has been the home of family entertainment for generations, so it is no surprise that it is still on its high horse today. Within the past decade Disney has raised over $7 Billion in funds only from movie remakes. And it looks like there is no end to their gains as this year alone, Disney has released popular title remakes like Aladdin, The Lion King, and Dumbo. All of that with more along the way like 2020’s Mulan remake.
Most of the success from these new films comes from the relationship they have garnered with the kids who grew up with them, and now being able to relive that childhood feeling of simpler times. But these remakes carry with them still the power to cater to a younger generation with most of these films being done in live action or 3D. Not to mention, the widespread, global access to movies has made the industry skyrocket in general. Disney can shine in much more than just the Marvel Universe.
These Disney remakes might be doing well int he box office today, but many of them just didnt cut it at until they were out on DVD where they could really shine and become household names. These titles, like Lion King, Alice in Wonderland, Mulan, will always be household names. But now we are going to get the chance to see what these settings and characters can look like in a different light.
And Disney has no plans on stopping any time soon with this list of titles being worked on in either live action or 3D!
