In a recent interview with ‘Time.’ the Old Town Road’ rapper discussed his Pride Month coming out message, noting that he was aware that ‘the people who listen to this the most’ are homophobic. ‘I never would have done that if I wasn’t in a way pushed by the universe.’ X explained, echoing previous comments he gave to Paper. ‘In June, I’m seeing Pride flags everywhere and seeing couples holding hands-little stuff like that.’ In a Twitter post last month, Lil Nas X alluded to his sexuality by asking fans to listen to his music with fresh ears.
In a caption under an Instagram upload posted by Uzi earlier this month, the ‘Old Town Road’ rapper joked that Uzi needs to hop on ‘Panini’ or he will ‘push my grandma down,’ Nas X’s comments comments came after a leaked DM conversation that had the rapper asking Lil Uzi vert to get on the Nirvana-Interpolating song went unanswered.
Earlier this week, Uzi denied the allegations made against him, having previously left a message from the ‘7’ rapper on read. ‘I did not leave Lil Nas on read,’ Uzi told TMZ. ‘I liked [the message], I sent a heart to Lil Nas X.’ When asked if he’d lend a verse to Lil Nas X’s ‘Panini’, he replied, ‘If he wants me to do it, OK.’
During his Lollapalooza set in Chicago earlier this month, Weezy performed his unreleased version of Lil Nas X’s chart-topper. ‘I got the horses in the back but she twerking for a pony,’ Wayne rapped over the instrumental. In a recent ‘XXL’ interview, Lil Wayne revealed that he was asked to do an official remix to ‘Old Town Road’ after a snippet of Wayne rapping over the instrumental surfaced online this summer.
